Body Suspension
Scroll to read ↓
The act of hanging from hooks pierced through the skin, practiced by multiple cultures worldwide for hundreds of years. This experience is one of ritual, spirituality, connection, community, challenge, and exploration. As individuals, those of us who facilitate have found moments of healing, catharsis, clarity, vulnerability, and emotional connection. A truly one-of-a-kind experience that no one can take from you. With a combined 30 years of experience facilitating suspensions, it is our greatest honor to bring this beautiful act to the Seattle area. We are grateful for the opportunity to provide others a chance to challenge themselves, conquer fear, explore new emotional depths, and experience all it is suspension has to offer.
With a focus on continuing education, community, and safe technique, Nexus Body Suspension attends and helps run multiple educational events internationally for body suspension and is committed to making safe suspension accessible to anyone who feels called to this process. We focus on a practice that honors the spiritual, ritual nature of suspension and emphasis on decolonizing body suspension in America. This looks like sponsoring events internationally, offering our services on an accessible sliding scale, and uplifting indigenous voices wherever possible.
For those interested in learning more about the history of these practices and decolonizing their work, please check out First Nations Hook Collective. For those interested in learning more about our practices at Nexus, check out the rest of the information and links on this page. For those interested in suspending with us, and submit our suspension inquiry form, and someone will be in touch within 1-2 weeks.
Meet the Team

-
Lynn Loheide (they/them)
Lynn did their first suspension at 19, and joined the team just months later to begin to learn to facilitate themselves. You could say they were hooked! Now with 13 years of experience as a professional piercer, and 11 years as a suspension facilitator, they are proud to bring this practice that is near to their heart to others. They love facilitating first-time suspensions, as well as event coordinating for larger suspension conventions. In their free time they research, document, and archive suspension history, and are interested in the history of pain rituals around the world.
-
Brien (he/him)
Suspension was wild and different and something to experience, so at 17, Brien did his first one. After several questionable facilitator experiences, he wanted to offer something better for suspension and started learning how other teams worked. After connecting with Steve Haworth and attending Suspension Mecca, Brien began facilitating. With a history in boating and knot work, Brien loves intricate rigging, beautiful rope, and anything outdoors.

Alex Isenhart (he/him)
Alex has been in the piercing industry for almost 5 years, and is ecstatic to be with Nexus Body Suspension! He has been learning to facilitate since August 2024, attending his first international conference in March 2025. Suspension has quickly become one of the greatest loves of his life, and he can’t wait to share in this experience with you!
-
Taylor Jenson (they/them)
Taylor was hooked ever since their first suspension in September of 2024. They had the honor of attending their first Suscon in March of 2025 and are excited to further their knowledge and skill. Taylor is a neurodivergent weirdo who has 2 ways in which they experience suspension: mind empty and calm, or being both the kid and the playground. They are excited to be a part of Nexus Body Suspension and to assist others in however they choose to experience flight. They can’t wait to hang with you!
