DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS? Nexus operates on an APPOINTMENT ONLY basis, this includes ALL piercing services, downsizes, consultations, and jewelry purchases and insertions. This allows dedicated time with each client to ensure their experience is the best it can possibly be. Although we normally love it when folks drop by and socialize, Nexus is focused on creating private, safer spaces. Please book online here. Please BE ON TIME for your appointment. Because this is an appointment-only space, being late means setting back the rest of the day, and being early may run into someone elses time. We ask that you arrive at the scheduled time of your appointment. Unfortunately, if you are late, we will have to reschedule your appointment

WHAT DOCUMENTATION IS NEEDED TO BE PIERCED? If you are over 18 you MUST provide one of the following to meet state, county, and insurance company requirements for our paperwork. Documents must be original- photos or copies will not be accepted. 1. Current and Valid State ID 2. Current and Valid State Drivers License 3. Current and Valid Passport or ID Card 4. Current/Most Recent School ID w/ Valid Birth Certificate What Documentation is needed for MINORS to be pierced? If you are under 18, you MUST be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. You MUST provide a Valid Birth Certificate in addition to the ID's listed below. Documents must be original- photos or copies will not be accepted. The minor AND the parent or legal guardian MUST provide one of the following to meet State, County, and Insurance Company requirements for our paperwork. 1. Current and Valid State ID 2. Current and Valid State Driver's License 3. Current and Valid Passport or Passport ID Card 4. Current/Most Recent School ID In our studio, you MUST be at least 13 years old to get pierced. We do NOT offer all piercings to Minors.
AM I ABLE TO BRING MY PET INTO THE STUDIO? As much as we love seeing all your pets, we want to make sure we provide the safest environment possible for our clients. This includes clients with animal allergies, skin conditions, or fear of animals. This unfortunately means that pets cannot come into the studio.

With that being said, if you have a service dog and need to bring them into the studio for your appointment, we are happy to make accommodations. We ask you to contact us directly to schedule via info@nexusbodyarts.com so we can ensure we have extra time for cleaning after your appointment. However, we do not permit comfort, therapy, and/or emotional support animals into the studio as they are not trained and registered per ADA guidelines.
CAN YOU PIERCE ME WITH JEWELRY I BRING IN? For your safety, we only work with jewelry from verified companies that we know is designed for body piercing, safe to be sterilized, and safe for you. Jewelry must meet APP standards. If you have jewelry you have purchased from us or another reputable studio, you can bring it in for us to use. If we can not verify the jewelry is safe, we will be unable to install it for you. If you want to be pierced with your own jewelry you will need to schedule an appointment for that service and drop the jewelry off 24 hours in advance for decontamination and processing. There is a $10-$15 service fee for decontamination and processing.
HOW MANY PIERCINGS CAN I GET AT ONCE? Typically the most we will do on one person is 3 or 4. This is something we will go over once you are in the studio and can talk with you one on one.
IS YOUR STUDIO ACCESSIBLE? Your health, your comfort, and your boundaries are important to us. Nexus is committed to creating a safe and accessible space for all. Here are some of the things we offer: SILENT APPOINTMENTS Whatever the reason, we know that small-talk isn’t for everyone. We offer a Silent Appointment option to all of our in-person services. While we still need to communicate things like consent, risks, the service itself, we are more than happy to keep our certified yapping to a minimum, and provide you with a peaceful environment. MASKING AND AIR FILTRATION Your piercer will be masked during all appointments. We prioritize your health and safety above all else, as well as our own. Masking during your appointments prevents the spread of airborne illness, and is also a great way to avoid your piercer breathing directly into your face. We utilize high performance HEPA-grade air purifiers in our space and are happy to accommodate any other COVID precautions upon request. SAFE MATERIALS All of our jewelry has been guaranteed by our vendors to be body safe. We use mill certifications (documents that verify a material’s quality and contents) to confirm the safety of any jewelry going into fresh or healing piercings. We offer glass retainers and other implant grade materials that are safe for medical imaging. The Body Jewelry Verification Program (BJVP) is dedicated to confirming the materials and compliance of body jewelry vendors, and we keep up to date on any additions or retractions from those lists, as well as keep up with our own research. PREPARED FOR EVERYONE We have body markers available for all skin tones, glucose tablets and candy if you feel a bit nauseous or forgot to eat before your piercing, water available for all of our clients, and are prepared for all types of services and people. SIZE INCLUSIVITY AND WEIGHT LIMITS We are here for all bodies. We appreciate all bodies. We want you to feel empowered and seen in our space. We’re a fully private, secured, appointment-only studio, so your time will always be limited to you, your piercer, and a guest, if you choose to bring one. We have a massage table that holds up to 400 pounds and a medical table that holds up to 600 pounds. BUILDING ACCESSIBILITY The building Nexus lives in is fully accessible, with ramp access, elevators inside and accessible bathrooms. All doorways will accommodate a wheelchair or other mobility device. The building also has three parking garages, each with designated spaces for clients/guests.
